Michelle Obama to Host the White House's First-Ever Fashion Workshop
Mark your calendars, young fashionistas—Michelle Obama is hosting a workshop just for you. The First Lady will host the White House's first-ever fashion workshop on Oct. 8, with high school and college students from Washington, D.C., Maryland, Pennsylvania, and New York heading to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue to soak up some sartorial knowledge.
Prabal Gurung, Bibhu Mohapatra, Reed Krakoff, and Maria Cornejo are just some of the designers who will offer advice to the students in attendance. The five-hour event includes individual workshops followed by a lunch and panel, all with the aim of educating the attendees on how to succeed in the industry. Later that day, FLOTUS will host a Celebration of Design reception with a bevy of designers and fashion executives in attendance.
A fashion workshop seems like an organic choice for Obama, who has always kept us on our toes with her fashion-forward wardrobe choices and her tendency to favor up-and-coming designers. Check out all of the First Lady's best looks in our gallery!
