Michael Phelps Celebrates First Day of Retirement by Taking His Son Boomer Swimming
File this under too cute for words.
Michael Phelps may have just announced his retirement from competitive swimming, but the 23-time Olympic gold medalist is already back in the pool. The record-breaking athlete took to Instagram today to share an adorable photo of himself with his fiancé Nicole Johnson and their 3-month-old son Boomer, and we can't get over how darling the tiny guy is. In the snap, the trio is all smiles as they get cozy for a photo while taking a family swim. Mom and dad are dressed in their swimwear, while little Boomer wears a neon swim stop and white wide-brimmed hat to shield his face from the sun.
"There's nothing like being back home!! Great way to spend my first day in retirement!!" the proud father captioned the picture.
Phelps took home a whopping six medals during the 2016 Summer Olympic Games, including five gold and one silver. And while the 31-year-old may have been the one competing, it was his supportive baby boy that truly stole the show.
Here's to many more sweet Boomer photos in the future.
