Michael Phelps's Customized Shoes Feature Son Boomer's Footprint
As Michael Phelps heads to Rio to compete in the summer Olympics, the swimmer will have a little lucky token with him in his shoe thanks to his baby boy Boomer.
Former Olympic gold medalist Rowdy Gaines revealed just that when he tweeted a photo of Phelps's custom Under Armour shoes that showed the 2-month-old's tiny footprint inked on one of the insoles. "Loving @MichaelPhelps shoes w son Boomer's foot imprint on one of them...so dang cute," the NBC swimming analyst wrote.
The tyke has already been practicing his moves in the pool with his Olympian dad ahead of the Olympics, with Phelps sharing an adorable photo of the two of them having some bonding time in the water a few weeks ago. "The little man loved the water today!! @boomerrphelps and I got some extra laps in today!! #mpswim," he captioned the photo.
And for good reason. Boomer is set to hit Rio with his mom, Nicole Johnson, and you never know if he'll have to help him out and take a dip or two. In the meantime, Johnson has been getting the little fashionisto's wardrobe together for the Olympics, which will include a star-studded baby carrier to match, naturally.
"We can't wait to match our new @tulababycarriers with our many different red, white n blue outfits for the #Olympics!! #rio2016 here we come! #teamusa #teamdaddy @m_phelps00," Johnson captioned the photo, which showed the smiley baby lounging under red and blue carriers.
This little guy is a swimmer—and a model—in the making.
