The First Monday in May has been attracting the biggest names in fashion and film for more than 70 years. And, considering the decades that have passed, the photo archives read like a walk through a graveyard of celebrity relationships — albeit, a very fashionable graveyard at that.
While this year we'll send each other heart-eyes emojis at the sight of of-the-moment couples like Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse or Rami Malek and Lucy Boynton, not every pair to walk the Met's red carpet has made it the distance. (Looking at you, Jennifer Lopez and Casper Smart.)
Click-through to relive the glory of bygone celebrity relationships.
