In one corner, diet; in the other, fitness. Throughout the month of May, follow along as InStyle's creative director Rina Stone and senior style editor Ali Pew put the two summer-ready strategies to the test. Stone is focusing on nutrition, while Pew is clocking in major sweat sessions. Check back each week for an update on their progress.

What She's Doing

The Sakara Life Organic Meal Delivery is a weight loss and healthy living program based on a whole-food, plant-rich diet that includes fresh, nutrient-dense and—I hope—delicious ingredients. Five days a week, I'll receive three meals (plus beauty and night water), with the option of enjoying the weekend guilt-free.

Why She Chose It

As a working mom with a hectic schedule, my workout time has gone out the window. I skip lunch way too often and reach for my children’s leftover macaroni and cheese the minute I walk in the door. It’s becoming increasingly difficult to take care of me. The program promises a flatter tummy, increased energy levels, better sleep and glowing skin. Sounds like a miracle, but I am a forever optimist! The food photography on the website is totally mouthwatering. If I can eat like that and wind up looking like the founders, Whitney Tingle and Danielle Duboise, I’d be pretty pleased. Plus, I'm really intrigued by the magical-sounding alkaline waters. The beauty water contains rosewater for its anti-inflammatory and metabolism-boosting properties, plus silica for "wetter" water, which provides deeper cellular hydration. The night water contains liquid chollera for lutiamte detox effects. So, like I said, magical waters!

What She Hopes to Achieve

Honestly, I would be happy just to feel comfortable in my clothes. Everything is a bit snug after this endless winter. Once I peel that layer off, I might be ready to add a run to the routine.

Kayla Istines's bikini body workout. Istines's downloadable e-guides are 30 minutes of workout moves three days a week for 12 weeks to completely and consistently reinvent your shape. (This will be a snapshot into the first four weeks of workouts, though I will provide an update once I complete the full 12-week program so stay tuned!) Istines's e-guides include workouts that specifically target fat loss for women, plus a guide to eating right.

Why She Choose It

While visiting my hometown a few months ago, I tried Istines's workout for a few days with my sister-in-law, who was doing it. I liked that it didn't feel daunting—it's only 30 minutes of different moves for each workout, not an hour class or aimlessly circling the gym trying to figure out what machines to do. I can do it at home, at the gym, in the park—wherever. I also started following Istines's Instagram and I was so amazed by all the before-and-after photos! It all felt so approachable. And I love to work out. I may not eat great all the time, but I always feel better when I work out so I figured this was something I could (somewhat!) easily do.

What She Hopes to Achieve

I want my clothes to feel a little better; a little looser. I want more toned arms and legs in summer skirts and sleeveless shirts. Itsines's workouts being super-focused on specific body parts should get me to where I want to be. Losing 5 lbs couldn't hurt either!
