Melissa McCarthy to Design a Clothing Line for Every Size on the Planet
What will Melissa McCarthy have in common with Gwen Stefani, Sofia Vergara, and Jessica Simpson come next year? Aside from their famous faces, the actress will now join the ranks of celebrities who have their own fashion brand. Hollywood's favorite funny girl has hinted at designing a line for several years, and now her dream is finally becoming a reality. The star, who originally moved to New York City to study design but shortly changed paths to a career in comedy, will launch her own clothing label through a partnership with Sunrise Brands in the fall of 2015.
Her yet-to-be-named collection will kick off with a line of casual everyday-wear including knit tops, sweaters, pants, and priced from $39 to $118, WWD reports. McCarthy's modern-with-a-twist designs will be available in all sizes at department stores and boutiques, as well as online—the Emmy award-winning actress wants her brand's offerings to be completely accessible to everyone. A higher-end and more contemporary collection, accessories, and beauty products is also in the works for 2016 and 2017. We can't wait to see what McCarthy comes up with!
