Meghan Markle Wore Multiple Wedding Dresses and the Second One Is Beautiful
Meghan Markle is officially a member of the royal family now that she and Prince Harry have exchanged vows. The guest list at their nuptials was killer (hello, Oprah, Priyanka Chopra, Serena Williams, and George and Amal Clooney), and we're still not over those super cute Prince George and Princess Charlotte moments. But one thing we’re particularly in love with is Markle’s fashion. Yes, the bride wore more than one dress.
While she first impressed the world in a Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy gown to walk down the aisle, Markle later changed into a reception dress that wasn’t quite as over-the-top (though, it still blows anything we would've worn out of the water). The Stella McCartney design gave off an effortless elegance, with a halter neckline and open back. The pure white number skimmed her curves before billowing into a ruffled skirt, which she lifted up before hopping into a vintage blue Jaguar E-Type Concept Zero convertible with Prince Harry.
Following her and Harry’s nuptials at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, the couple headed to St. George’s Hall for a private lunch reception that came complete with a performance by Elton John. Later, they left for a private evening reception that was closed to the public at Frogmore House.
Don’t think Markle’s multiple dress situation means she was an over-the-top bride. After marrying Prince William in an Alexander McQueen design in 2011, Kate Middleton headed to Buckingham Palace for her reception in another McQueen design. The strapless, satin gown contained a sweetheart neckline, circle skirt, and a glitzy waistband that she styled with a mohair cardigan.
Here’s to another historic fashion moment in the books.
