Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Are Giving Up Another Title — Sort of

So what does this mean for their Instagram?

After reported discussions, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have announced they will no longer use the name "Sussex Royal" in their branding.

According to royal reporter and expert Omid Scobie, a Buckingham Palace spokesperson has said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will not name their non-profit "Sussex Royal Foundation," and do not intend to use "Sussex Royal" in any way after the spring of this year.

Since their Instagram handle is @SussexRoyal, it's unclear if they'll be keeping that handle moving forward.

Last month, it was reported they would no longer use their His/Her Royal Highness titles, though they are still the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The decisions have been made in accordance with their step back as senior members of the royal family.

Earlier this week, they announced that March 31 would be the date on which they officially cease royal duties and begin the process of becoming financially independent and create a new life for themselves.

Meghan and Harry announced their decision to step back from their roles as senior members of the royal family back in January, writing at the time that they would "work to become financially independent, while continuing to fully support Her Majesty The Queen."
