Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Have Been Spotted For the First Time in L.A.
A video showed the couple in casual clothing, delivering meals to the needy.
After news that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had volunteered to personally deliver meals on behalf of the Project Angel Food organization, TMZ obtained what looks like a surveillance camera video of the couple dropping off meals to L.A. residents in need.
In the video, they can both be seen in baseball caps and face coverings, in compliance with L.A. county's requirement that residents wear masks in public. Meghan can also be seen wearing gloves and ringing the doorbell to head upstairs to drop off food. TMZ's sources said the couple delivered food to several residents at a low-income housing unit for disabled and special needs residents.
Richard Ayoub, Project Angel Food's executive director, previously said that they volunteered on Easter Sunday and again on Wednesday, adding, "They told us they heard our drivers were overloaded and wanted to volunteer to lighten the drivers' workload." He told People that they took six deliveries on Sunday and another 14 on Wednesday.
"What Meghan said is she wanted to show Harry Los Angeles through the eyes of philanthropy," he told People. "It’s just beautiful. There’s obviously a great deal of love and selflessness between them."
Dan Tyrell, one of the recipients of the deliveries, told WEHOville.com he didn't initially recognize the couple: "I thought that tall red-headed guy looked pretty familiar, and that girl was very pretty. Then I saw the large black SUVs with the security guards behind them."
"They were both nice and very down-to-earth people," he added. "They had masks on, and they were dressed down with jeans, but very nice jeans."
