We have a few ideas.

Following the royal news heard ‘round the world (better known to some as Megxit), rumors of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s forthcoming escape to Los Angeles have reached a fever pitch. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced their intention to split their time “between the United Kingdom and North America,” and what more fitting a second home than Markle’s actual first home: L.A.

On their website, the couple shared that they would be pursuing careers outside of the charitable roles they hold within the royal family, which naturally begs the question: will Markle return to acting? If so, L.A. does make the most sense. Plus, Markle’s mom, Doria Ragland, lives there. Anything is possible.

So, if the rumors are true, what would the royals’ lives look in the golden state? We have some thoughts.

Where Would They Live?

Considering their ongoing battle with the U.K. tabloids, we’ll go ahead and assume privacy is going to be a top priority for the royal renegades. The most obvious and perhaps realistic option is the secluded Hollywood Hills — more specifically, the elite celeb-studded enclave of the Bird Streets. Former and current residents of the neighborhood include Leonardo DiCaprio, Jodie Foster, and Keanu Reeves.

Another viable location is Calabasas — yes, that Calabasas. We’re not saying Meghan and Harry would be initiated into the KarJenner ranks right away, but you can’t deny that their break from the royal family feels like a page torn straight from the Kris Jenner playbook. Plus, there would be an endless supply of Karcousin playmates for Baby Archie!

Where Would They Eat?

Only the best, cleanest, and greenest for America’s princess (and co.). Erewhon Market for all the family’s grocery needs, Little Pine (Moby’s vegan restaurant) for chic lunches in Silver Lake, quick bites at Café Gratitude, showy dinners at Catch L.A. … It’s the American dream!

Where Would They Workout?

We suspect you won’t see the Sussexes hiking to the Hollywood sign, though Meghan will no doubt have a personal trainer. She’ll possibly make the occasional sojourn to yoga classes around the city (she’s said to have been a fan of Y7).

What Would Archie’s Life Look Like?

Archie is going to be living pretty well no matter his zip code, but an upbringing in L.A. probably means enrollment at an ultra-exclusive private school, weekends spent downtown at The Broad Art Museum and the Walt Disney Concert Hall, and visits to the beach.

What Will They Do (Like, for Work)?

Ah, let the speculation begin! Meghan is, of course, much more famous since she became a royal than she ever was as an actress. But were Markle to renew her SAG card, we doubt she’d be aiming to score a supporting role. We see Markle’s comeback in Hollywood taking more of an Angelina Jolie-esque turn — she’d be a humanitarian and family person first, the ever-climbing Oscar nomination count would be but a blip on her radar.

As for Harry … Do we consider Instagram Husband a profession? We’d love to see the prince envelop an Alex Rodriguez-like role in Meghan’s life. He could continue his work with the Invictus Games and environmental charities, write a couple tell-alls, and then coast along as his wife’s forever plus-one.

Who Will They Hang Out with?

There are the obvious suspects: Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas, Serena Williams, and of course, the Suits cast. But we have a feeling the move will introduce a new presence in the Sussexes’ celebrity circle: Beyoncé and Jay-Z. I mean, they appeared to get along that one time they met. What other couple has reached this level of mutual celebrity? The Obamas, maybe … and Beyoncé and Jay-Z. Blue Ivy can teach Archie all her celebrity child ways! Rumi and Sir can lend him their baby couture hand-me-downs.

Will They Need a Nanny?

Probably. I’ve never considered myself an L.A. person, but I’m willing to make the move should they need me.
