They're California dreamin'.

As March 31 draws closer and closer, the world is about to see exactly what Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have planned for their lives post-royal exit. A source explained that the Sussexes are likely to split their time between Canada and California this year. Since the couple announced that they'd be stepping back from royal life back in January, they've been living in Canada and while rumors of a Los Angeles home base have surfaced in the past, sources say that it's more than likely that the Sussexes could be soaking up the sunshine this summer.

"This is what Meghan and Harry have always wanted — to create their own life," a source close to the royal family told People. "It's got to feel like an immense relief to get out of the U.K. and go down their own path."

People adds that a home in Los Angeles makes sense, since it's where Meghan grew up and it's where her mother, Doria Ragland, lives.

Meghan's friends also live in Southern California and the magazine notes that they've been up to visit her in Vancouver.

"They love being in Canada, but they are looking at houses in L.A., too," a second source noted. "They'll likely have houses in both places."

Back when she still ran her own blog, The Tig, Meghan wrote about how she would always be a California girl at heart.

"I was born and raised in Los Angeles, a California girl who lives by the ethos that most things can be cured with either yoga, the beach or a few avocados," one entry read.

"Harry is looking straight ahead at his future with his family," another source close to the couple reiterated. "They will be spending time in California and in Canada. He’s not looking back."
