Meghan Markle's Super Close Palace Pal Isn't Queen Elizabeth or Kate Middleton
Meeting in-laws for the first time ever has got to be one of the most stressful things you can do, sandwiched somewhere between untangling Christmas lights and moving cross-country. Add to that a family arguably more famous than any other on the planet, and you've got a sense of Meghan Markle's surreal life.
Thankfully, when Markle met the royals, all went over well. She and Queen Elizabeth are essentially wearing the adult version of friendship bracelets. She and Prince Harry look happy. And she's even made friends out of family along the way, becoming surprisingly close with her father-in-law, Prince Charles.
Just a week after the palace had to shut down intense rumors that Charles doesn't get along very well with Prince William or Prince Harry (a "total fabrication," as far as the royals are concerned), an anonymous family member is spilling the beans on what's really going on behind closed doors. The secret royal person told Vanity Fair that Charles has created a "lovely relationship with the duchess" and is "closer to Harry than ever."
“The wedding was a real turning point,” the family member said. “Charles showed so much love towards Harry and Meghan, and I think Harry will be eternally grateful to his papa for stepping in and giving Meghan’s hand in marriage. The bond between them is very close.”
That isn't just talk. The source added that Harry, Meghan, and Charles are quite the friendly trio, and they spend their time having dinner, reading, walking their dogs, and chatting together often. A regular Three Musketeers situation. “Charles has been very supportive of Meghan and everything she is going through with her own father," the source said. "He’s got a real soft spot for her and thinks she’s the best thing to have happened to Harry.”
There you have it. It's basically only a matter of time until the best friend tattoos. Bring it on.
