Meghan Markle Just Masterfully Broke a Major Style Rule

And looked great doing it.

Meghan Markle may be known for refreshingly eschewing royal traditions, but she's also shown that she can skillfully sidestep so-called fashion "rules." And her latest appearance flies in the face of perhaps the oldest style edict: don't pair navy with black.

On Wednesday, the Duchess of Sussex was seen leaving the National Theatre in London in a blue striped blouse and black slacks with a navy blue coat draped over her shoulders. She finished the look with a pair of black pumps and pulled her hair up into a neat updo.

Style rules be damned — Meghan Markle is the queen of flying in the face of tradition (and looking great while doing it).

The duchess is a patron of the National Theatre, a role she took on last year to aid the theatre's learning and participation programs in supporting young people's creativity across the U.K.

Tuesday marked Meghan and Prince Harry's return to royal duties after a much-needed holiday break in Canada (and another stellar outfit from the duchess). The couple visited Canada House in London to meet with Janice Charette, High Commissioner to the U.K., and thanked her for the hospitality shown during their stay in the country.

Good to have you back, Meghan.
