The 32-year-old Irishman is starring in three must-see movies of 2015, including the period romance Brooklyn alongside Saoirse Ronan, the adventure drama The Revenant with Leonardo DiCaprio, and, to top it off, Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens, alongside all the world's buzziest actors right now. We caught up with the Dublin native while he was in Toronto promoting Brooklyn at the Toronto International Film Festival, where he said his work is aligning quite magically. "All of the movies are coming out within a couple months of each other, which is exciting," he said. "But I'm not the lead in any of them, so it's okay," he joked. "It feels manageable." What he loved most about the projects, even though they're each so different, is who he worked with. Scroll down to see what he had to say about each. Brooklyn (out November 6) Castmates: Saoirse Ronan, Liam Neeson What it's about: In this 1950s period drama, immigrant Eilis Lacey (Ronan) leaves her life in Ireland for America and she must choose between the love she found in both. What he had to say: "I've run out of superlatives for Saoirse. When we were making the film, I knew she was special, and I knew this performance was going to be special. She is so honest and sweet and true. In the movie, she is in this heightened state of loneliness and sadness and love and everything. I was with her all the way and it was amazing." Why You Should Watch The Walk, Starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt Star Wars: Episode VII– The Force Awakens (out December 18) Castmates: Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Oscar Isaac, Carrie Fisher, Gwendoline Christie, Lupita Nyong'o What it's about: The epic Star Wars franchise continues and this installment takes place 30 years after what happened in Return of the Jedi. What he had to say: "I was so in awe of the people from the original trilogy. They were my heroes as a kid. I giggled like a schoolgirl when [Harrison Ford] was around. He’s an amazing man so that was just incredible. I had worked with Oscar Isaac before when we did Ex Machina together. There's no way to know if fans will be satisfied with this movie, that's the bitter truth. We put our heart and soul into it. I saw how hard everybody was working on it. I think it’s got a shot." The Revenant (out December 25) Castmates: Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hardy What it's about: This story takes place in 1820s Dakota territory. Hugh Glass (DiCaprio) is hurt by a bear and his friends leave him to die. He survives and seeks out revenge. What he had to say: "Leonardo is a brilliant actor. Because he’s one of the most famous people in the world, people talk about that. But it would be silly to forget the fact that he’s fabulous and brilliant as an actor. It was great to watch him, especially with the extreme circumstances that we were all in. It wasthe nature of the shoot. We were out in really cold temperatures and a pretty unforgiving landscape. It was the way everybody wanted to be, so we would struggle. You need to be really tied to people to get through that and that’s what our group became."
