Bourne fans rejoice! Matt Damon is set to reprise his role as former CIA agent Jason Bourne in the fifth installment of the franchise, due out in 2016. Damon's friend and fellow actor Ben Affleck revealed the news to E! News on Friday, with Damon confirming it shortly after. "It'll be in 2016 when the movie will actually come out. Paul Greengrass [the director] is going to do another one and that's all I ever said. I just needed him to say yes," Damon said.

The actor appeared in the first three movies in the Bourne series,The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy, and The Bourne Ultimatum, while Greengrass directed the second and third. Neither were part of the fourth film, The Bourne Legacy. The series is based on the novels by Robert Ludlum and is about a former CIA agent who suffers from memory loss. Filming for the fourth film will begin next year.
