Mary Katrantzou's First Wedding Gown Is Perfection
What happens when a designer known for her kaleidoscope prints designs a wedding gown? We found out when Mary Katrantzou, famous for her use of color and embellishment, created a bespoke wedding gown for her friend Carolina Gonzalez-Bunster’s Dominican Republic nuptials. The result was, of course, amazing. The gown, which was inspired by silhouettes in Katrantzou’s Fall 2012 and Spring 2013 collections, featured a halter neckline and ruffled skirt. And although no prints or embellishments were in sight, it was nothing short of amazing. The London-based designer, who flew to the Dominican Republic for the big day, Instagrammed a storm of photos at the wedding, which took place last week, even posting some aw-inspiring videos of the bride and groom that show off how well the gown moves.
Only one question remains: Will Katrantzou release a bridal collection?
