The Mary Queen of Scots star arrived at London’s annual film and television awards show on Sunday in a mermaid-cut Chanel Haute Couture gown with bold structured sleeves made of blue and black tulle, a matching skirt, and a dazzling bodice embellished with yellow, blue, and silver sequins, pearls, and stones. According to Vogue, the painstakingly detailed piece (which debuted in Paris just weeks ago) took 690 hours to create. Fans took to Twitter to compare the gown to any number of things, including a “car wash,” and “a flying fish” (?). Personally, I’m getting Wizard of Oz flying monkey vibes — like a really chic, talented flying monkey without any evil intentions.
