Man Moment: Pharrell Steals the Show in Knee-High Shorts, Red Sequin Shoes and Yet Another Hat
Ever since Pharrell Williams graced the Grammys red carpet in his now-legendary Vivienne Westwood hat back in January, the world has been anxiously awaiting what sort of fashion stunt he could possibly pull next.
So when the singer made his debut at the Oscars sans the hat tonight, we sighed—only if for a moment – until we suddenly realized in the absence of the hat was another red carpet fashion statement equally as cool and unexpected – shorts.
Yes, the cool-as-a-cucumber Pharrell waltzed down the carpet sans pants (photo, right), instead opting for knee-high shorts, which he paired with a Lanvin tuxedo top.
But the Pharrell style moments didn’t stop there, either; inside the awards show, the famous hat resurfaced (photo, left)—this time in black—during a performance of his hit “Happy” (side note: his hat’s Twitter handle, @pharrellhat, is still going strong).
And, if that wasn’t enough to keep you fashionably satisfied, there’s more: the hat wasn’t the only accessory to steal the show during his performance. He also rocked a pair of Wizard of Oz-esque red sequined Adidas sneakers that made us want to click our heels. Bottom line: We're loving the statements he's been bringing to the carpet, all season long.
