Make Way for EGOT: Jennifer Hudson Discusses Her Broadway Ambitions
Oscar-winning stars are always asked where they keep their prized statuette, and while answers can range from giving it to their loved ones to the bathroom, Jennifer Hudson may have one of the best ones yet. The singer-actress, who won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar in 2007 for her performance in Dreamgirls, told host Andy Cohen during her visit to Watch What Happens Live on Wednesday that she keeps the award on a shelf that leads into a hidden "futuristic office." (How very James Bond of her.)
But Hudson---who looked as fab as ever in lace-up heels, a plunging, long-sleeve Balmain minidress, and her eternally-in-style pixie cut---is ready to make space on that mantle for another award: Tony. When Cohen pointed out that Hudson is just a couple letters away from getting her EGOT (an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony award; she earned a Best R&B Album Grammy in 2009), the star admitted she's more than ready to get another step closer to joining the exclusive EGOT winners' circle by making her Broadway debut. "I really wanna do that," she said. "It might be happening really soon."
