Make Up Tell All: What's Behind January Jones Chic Gamine Look

January Jones always looks radiant, whether she is bouncing around town running errands or posing on the red carpet. But we can’t stop talking about her bold lips and undone 'do at the 2nd Annual Rebel With a Cause Gala last week. Here’s how to recreate her look:

“January was wearing black and white stripes, so we wanted to add a pop of color,” says makeup artist Lottie. “The red lip also matched her amazingly cute Jimmy Choo bag, which was mirrored with red lips on it!” Lottie used “my trusty and now discontinued favorite red lip liner by Stila #25 (try MAC Lip Liner in Cherry as an alternative), and Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Beso” to make her pout really stand out.

When it came to her wavy strands, hairstylist Gregory Russell went for a loose and wavy look. “January and I were inspired by Debbie Harry's undone texture and attitude for her hair to give some contrast to the structured look and classic makeup,” he says.

To begin, he prepped her tresses with Kevin Murphy Anti-Gravity Spray, concentrating on the roots and lightly through the ends, and used Kevin Murphy Resort Spray on her damp ends as well for texture. “Next I rough-dried her hair lightly using a Mason Pearson brush through the ends. When dried, I used a flat iron bending in opposite directions to create a natural-looking irregular wave.”
