As Madonna made her way through Kenya this week, the music icon shared photos from her trip that will take your breath away.
The songstress, who is visiting the country to help promote maternal health and girls' education, discussed just that when she shared a photo of herself on Instagram Monday that showed her posing with the First Lady of Kenya, Margaret Kenyatta. "Meeting with Her Excellency Margaret Kenyatta, the first lady of Kenya! Learning about her Beyond Zero Campaign which targets eliminating maternal and child mortality in Kenya and hoping to join forces to promote Female Empowerment! Around the World! happy 4th!," she captioned the shot.
When she visited Kibera, Madonna also spent time with the founder of Shining Hope for Communities, which links free schools for girls in Kenyan slums to essential services for the whole community, like clean water and free health care. "Walking with Kennedy the founder of @shofco on the playground built with love in Kibera by our #gang," she captioned a photo of herself strolling through a playground with him.
Madonna also shared photos of some of the children she met in Kibera (who struck smiley poses for the camera), and even a little girl named Beyonce who painted a hand-printed mural with her daughter Lourdes. "Lola and Beyonce paint a wall together with Love in an all girls Primary school in Kibera. @shofco (yes thats her name!)," she captioned the shot.
As Madonna traveled to Kikuyu Valley, she struck a pose in a printed blue and white poncho with members of the Samburu tribe, and shared another photo of women in the tribe as well.
We can't wait to see what else she experiences on her journey!
