Pinocchio is about to become a real, real boy: Disney's 1940 classic animated film Pinocchio is getting the live-action treatment, Deadline reports. Screenwriter Peter Hedges is working on a new film loosely based on The Adventures of Pinocchio, a novel written by Carlo Collodi from 1883. No additional details on the movie have been released.

Disney is seriously on a roll—just last week we learned that the studio is developing a live-action Winnie the Pooh and that followed news that a Mulan remake was in the early stages of development. And further along in production are the star-studded versions of The Jungle Book and Beauty and the Beast, which are set to hit theaters in 2016 and 2017, respectively. We're looking forward to seeing Jiminy Cricket come to life on the big screen!
