Lena Dunham Posts a Swimsuit Selfie to Reveal Her "Endo Scars"

Last November Lena Dunham opened up about the physical and emotional ramifications of living with endometriosis, a physical condition where uterine tissue grows in other parts of the body in her Lenny newsletter.

Now the Girls creator and star is showing her fans what it's actually like to live with the disease in a raw bikini shot posted to the star's Snapchat story on Wednesday.

"When the Target swimsuit does a b— right, Endo scars & all," the 30-year-old captioned the photo, which shows her standing in a changing room and proudly showing off her endometriosis scars in a black and red bikini top and leopard-print bikini bottoms.

While the actress has been open about having to deal with online bullies and hateful comments about her body, she hasn't let that get in the way of feeling comfortable in her own skin. The body-positive proponent has bared it all on her HBO TV show and recently starred in an unretouched lingerie ad in August with Girls co-star Jemima Kirke.
