Lady Gaga Nails a Grunge-y, Cowgirl-Inspired Getup
Hedi Slimane sadly may have parted ways with Saint Laurent, but his reign at the beloved Parisian fashion house isn’t being forgotten by one major pop star: Lady Gaga. At least that’s what her latest casual style choices seem to be honoring. On Sunday, Gaga, who has been a longtime supporter of all things Slimane, flocked to her family-owned Manhattan restaurant, Joanne Trattoria, to celebrate Mother’s Day and dine on “antipasti meatballs and broccoli rabe.”
Yes, the artist’s holiday seems to have been well spent, but it’s her look that we’re obsessed with. For the occasion, the beauty sported a rock-n-roll getup that easily looks like a cross between Slimane’s grunge-like fall and spring ’13 Saint Laurent portfolio. She kept things casual with a pair of tight, distressed black jeans and a blue and green plaid shirt that she tucked in and paired with a sleek black leather belt. And while three two pieces are enough to get a hint of the late-night rock star vibe she’s going for, Gaga amped it up with more accessories.
Her pointed-toe black studded boots are killer, not to mention a navy blue wide-brimmed hat with major hoop earrings, rounded sunglasses, and a red lip. This isn’t, of course, the first time she's rocked a look with the same south-of-the-border aesthetic. Two weeks ago, she switched things up only slightly, donning the same shoes with a hat, jeans, and a shirt of similar style.
We think Hedi would be proud.
