Kylie Jenner is paying a very special tribute to her grandparents.

The 18-year-old Keeping Up with the Kardashians star took to Instagram Tuesday to show off a red tattoo on her arm—and the sentimental meaning behind it.

Sharing a close-up of her ink, Kylie wrote in the caption, “grandmothers name in my grandfathers handwriting.”

The cursive writing reads "Mary Jo," in reference to Kris Jenner’s mother, whom fans of the reality show know as a beloved figure for the entire Kardashian clan.

When a Twitter follower asked Kylie what prompted her decision to get the tattoo, she shared the sweet sentiment behind it. “I was close to my grandfather but he has passed," she said. "Wanted to honor both of them.”

Mary Jo Campbell, a frequent presence on Keeping Up With the Kardashians, was married to Kylie’s grandfather, Harry Shannon, who passed away in 2003.

Earlier this month, Jenner posted video on Snapchat that showed her getting the tattoo done in New York City, with Caitlyn Jenner in tow.
