The two are expecting their second child, 15 months after Bell gave birth to daughter Lincoln Shepard, People.com confirmed today. While details surrounding the due date or the gender are up in the air, we do know for certain that Bell will have her maternity style locked down. In the past year especially, Bell's style has noticeably matured, evolving from a sweet, girly aesthetic into a classic, modern one—a change that Bell attributes to her new role as a mother. A major signifier of that progression? Learning to instinctively eliminate certain silhouettes from her outfit rotation. "Last month, I was cleaning my closet; there were certain tops that were a bit too cropped, and I actually had the evolved instinct to say, 'I'm going to be 34 years old soon—I don't need to be in a crop top,'" the actress tells InStyle.com (her birthday is July 18) at the American Express "Epic EveryDay Getaway" event last week. "Whether I can wear it or not is irrelevant. I'm going to let the 20-somethings have the crop tops, and that's okay with me." It's that acceptance that has led her to gravitate toward darker, riskier choices on the red carpet. Recent evidence points to the 2014 CMT Awards and her many outfit changes as host—all black, all incredibly ornate. "I've been very into wearing black. It's just what I'm feeling," Bell tells us. "[At the CMTs], we wanted a cohesive story; all the dresses I wore were black and elegant for a reason." We're expecting to see Bell out and about in classic, dark pieces. As for the baby's name, we can only speculate that it will be as unique as Lincoln—her name, Bell tells InStyle.com, was born from Shepard's love of the name (a nod to his favorite president and the fact he's restoring a 1967 Lincoln Continental). "Lincoln is unique, but at the same time it's not like Blueberry Pancakes," she jokes. "It's unique, but not ridiculous." We repeat: Blueberry Pancakes will definitely not be the name of baby number two. To see more of Kristen Bell's style, take a look at all her best looks, on and off the red carpet.
