Kirna Zabete Co-Owners Talk All About Fall Fashion
When Sarah Easley and Beth Buccini opened Kirna Zabete fifteen years ago, they set out to create a retail environment curated with the best designer finds, from brands you know and love to under-the-radar-labels. We were eager to get their take on all things fall fashion, so we sat down with the stylish duo to talk about the most wanted trends of the season (For fall, there’s an overall theme of the ‘70s vibe, which is still going strong. It’s not a direct ‘70s Marcia [Brady] remix, it’s inspired by the ‘70s, but with a modern twist," Easley says) and their personal shopping lists.
“We have tweed in all sorts of silhouettes. We have a really cool, hefty but slightly slouchy tweed jacket from Dolce & Gabbana and a Proenza Schouler tweed jacket with fringe. Adam Lippes has beautiful tweed pants, too."
“For capes, we have beautiful styles from Chloé, Stella McCartney, and Sonia Rykiel.”
“Jumpsuits came straight out of the ‘70s. We have a great one from Stella McCartney and one with pops of color from Peter Pilotto. We also have this short, sexy evening style from Valentino.”
Sarah Easley’s Picks
"I love the safety pin Sonia Rykiel jacket with the cape back. I think it’s really a perfect piece that doesn't look too trendy, but very much exemplifies what's happening this season. I also love these baby blue cords from Chloé."
Beth’s Buccini's Picks
“I love an over-the-knee boot. The suede Gianvito Rossi boots are great. I also think it’s an amazing season for velvet, we’ve all been obsessing over these velvet Rosie Assoulin track pants. Plus, I always love sailor stripes, and Chloé did a blue-and-white stripe sweater that’s a yummy, cozy, chunky knit."
