Kim Kardashian and Kanye West Hired Private Firefighters to Save Their Home from the Wildfires
With the Woolsey fire devastating much of Southern California and destroying a slew of celebrity houses, it looks like Kim Kardashian and her husband Kanye West are taking the protection of their home into their own hands.
According to TMZ, the Wests hired private firefighters not only protect their $60 million dollar Hidden Hills mansion, but also to watch out for their entire neighborhood.
While we can't deny that we are a little shocked by the fact that it’s actually possible to hire private firefighters, we must admit it was a smart move on their part. The West home sits on the edge of a field, so if it were to catch fire, all nearby homes would be at risk.
The 38-year-old reality star and her family were forced to evacuate their home when the wildfire first began to approach on Thursday. However, TMZ reports that a team of firefighters, equipped with hose, were able to successfully prevent serious damage while digging ditches to stop flames from spreading to other estates.
The news outlets spoke with a few of the couple’s neighbors who were predictably thankful for their efforts. Kardashian and her family have been adamant about supporting wildfire relief efforts and local firefighters, both online and off.
While accepting the award for "Favorite Reality Show" last night at the People’s Choice Awards, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star dedicated the award to the California firefighters who responded to the deadly fires.
We’re sure they appreciate your efforts, Kim!
