Kim Basinger is about to get a whole lot darker. It was announced today that the actress is joining the cast of the 50 Shades of Grey series, 50 Shades Darker, and we couldn't be more excited to see the Oscar-winning stunner in the film.

Basinger will play Elena Lincoln, titular character Christian Grey's business partner and former lover, Variety reports. Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan will reprise their roles as Anastasia Steele and Grey, while Luke Grimes, Eloise Mumford, and Max Martini will return for the second installment, as well. As was reported last year, Sam Taylor-Johnson dropped out as director, and James Foley is taking the reigns for the final two films in the series.

The cast is set to film both 50 Shades Darker and 50 Shades Freed back-to-back, with the former hitting theaters on Feb. 10, 2017, just four days shy of the three-year anniversary of the first film's Valentine's Day release.
