Khloé Kardashian Faced Mommy Shamers After Opening Up About Using Formula

For famous moms, mommy shaming seems to come with the territory. Khloé Kardashian, who gave birth to her first child in April, unfortunately experienced her first taste of it after opening up about her need to supplement breastfeeding with formula.

"Because I don’t produce enough milk, I also have to give a bottle with every feeding," Kardashian wrote in a recent post on her app. "With the formula I use, I have to give True the bottle within 30 minutes of making it, so it’s amazing to have this machine make it for me. It’s super easy to use—and fast, so when I'm exhausted and can’t even keep my eyes open in the middle of the night, it’s a total lifesaver."

Of course, her decision (which frankly is of no concern to anyone aside from Kardashian, her child, and her doctor) was met with criticism from some fans. However, one fellow mom was grateful that she shared how she's feeding True.

"mad respect to @khloekardashian for opening up about supplementing with formula," Amber Kelmig wrote on Twitter. "i had to do that when i went back to work, and i was so embarrassed that i couldn’t produce enough because i was away from jackson. fed is best!" Khloé replied to her message admitting, "Mommy shaming is real!"

"But the truth is I’ve tried and tried and tried to breast feed only and it wasn’t working for me," she continued. "I feel fortunate that I am able to still breast-feed but with the help of formula. Breast-feeding is something I really wanted to do. Just am not fully able."

You do you, Khloé.
