Kerry Washington Talks About Her Birthday Falling on Super Bowl Weekend
There are two reasons to throw a party this weekend: the Super Bowl, of course, and the fact that it's Kerry Washington’s birthday. The gorgeous and talented Scandal star, who turns 38 years young on Jan. 31, stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Thursday, where she chatted about what it's like to have a birthday that falls around the biggest sporting event of the year.
The actress—who looked downright beautiful in blue during her appearance—doesn't seem to compete with the Super Bowl. As she looks at it, "I have the only birthday with a halftime!" While her birthday this year is on the day before the big game, she told host Jimmy Kimmel, "There has been years where it has been perfect alignment and I feel like the whole nation has been partying—for me. " ("You can't tell I'm only child, can you?" she added with a laugh.) She also went on to describe her theme parties as a child and how she now sends her parents gifts instead:
Of course, addition to birthday talk, there was some Scandal chatter. The drama, thankfully, returned last night (happy birthday to us all!) and the leading lady dropped a minor spoiler, but mostly stayed tight-lipped about what fans can expect.
