Kerry Washington, Coco Rocha, Nicky Hilton, and More Dazzle at the Accessories Council's ACE Awards
The stars put on their best and brightest bling for the Accessories Council’s 2014 ACE Awards last night, which celebrated the not-for-profit advocacy group’s 20th anniversary. As guests arrived at the lavish dinner and award ceremony at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City, the night's honorees and presenters lit up the blue carpet while decked out in the sparkliest of ensembles to match their carefully selected accessories for the evening.
Honorees were recognized for promoting the use of accessories, and included Kerry Washington and Scandal costume designer Lyn Paolo. “The thing that’s most exciting about being honored this evening is that I get to do it with one of my best friends, and I get to be up there receiving this award with somebody that I love, because we worked together on this journey,” Washington—in a crystal-embellished Prada dress—told InStyle of receiving the Influencers award. “We have a blast—we have such a good time together,” Paolo added.
Before presenting Veronica Bulgari with the evening’s Legacy Award, mom-to-be Coco Rocha needed a last-minute outfit change. “I had a different dress planned and I picked my accessories for that, but then the dress didn’t fit because the bump is getting bigger,” said the pregnant Rocha, whose Bulgari jewels added an extra dose of old-school glam to her ensemble. “More is more to me—my mom taught me that if you have the chance, always put it on. Bulgari gave me the chance to really put on anything, and diamonds are a girls best friend!”
Presenter Nicky Hilton, on the other hand, decided to keep her look toned down when choosing her accessories for the night. “I decided to be simple with a lot of it,” she said of accessorizing her butterfly-print Valentino dress. “I’m having a purple moment! It started with the nails, then the dress, and then the bag.”
And while Hilton kept it simple, Flo Rida—honored as the evening’s Style Ambassador—piled on the diamonds. “I really like jewels,” he said. His iced-out look makes that pretty clear, we'd say.
