The coupling of The Americans stars Matthew Rhys and Keri Russell is one of the greatest living examples of fan fiction turned reality.

Just the idea that they share a life and a baby boy named Sam is music to the ears of fans of the FX series but what’s more Rhys and Russell actually prove the elegance of their union on the red carpet. On Thursday night, the onscreen and offscreen couple stepped out for the Brooklyn Black Tie Ball at New York's Brooklyn Bridge Park and looked like a match made in modern black-tie heaven.

Rhys followed event dress code of "Brooklyn Black Tie" with a gentlemanly dark suit and tie. Russell took a more contemporary approach and matched her partner in a pair of high-waist black pants, a sheer black shirt with a tie at the neck, a structural cropped blazer, and a pair of black pumps. Russell wore her golden brown locks in a stately low ponytail.

Unsurprisingly, the set of TV spies has the nearly all-black look down pat.
