After posting images from a recent photo shoot, Kelly Rowland came under fire. People reports that her Instagram comments were flooded with commenters accusing her of bleaching her skin. The image, which was posted on Wednesday, shows the former Destiny's Child member wearing bold sunglasses and red lipstick, though it was clear that many Instagram users were more focused on her skin tone.

"I never answer questions like this because I think it’s so stupid," Rowland said in a now-deleted video. Some of her fans managed to save the video, however, and have reposted it. "I am not the one to bleach my skin, nor do I want to bleach my skin, nor do I have to bleach my skin I don’t even think that — it’s not for me."

She affirmed that she doesn't do anything to her skin to lighten it, telling all the haters that there's plenty that goes into a photo after its taken. Lighting, editing, and more can go into a post — everyone's familiar with a filter by now — and that everyone needs to back off. She signed off with a tribute to her fellow dark-skinned sisters, letting everyone know that she's proud of the way she looks and that everyone should have the same attitude.

"Don’t go saying stupid stuff like that," Rowland continued. "You ever thought that it could be the lighting? I am still chocolate, forever chocolate, proud to be chocolate, shoutout to all my chocolate girls."
