Katie Holmes is just like us: When we get a new hairstyle that we’re head-over-heels in love with, we have to show it off immediately—even if it’s just a wig. The 37-year-old actress took to Instagram at 3 A.M. last night to debut a chic bob with a pretty black-and-white selfie that she captioned, “3 am :) #setlife #gratitude #wig.”
Holmes is currently in the midst of filming the upcoming TV miniseries The Kennedys: After Camelot in Toronto where she’s reprising her role as Jackie O. from the 2011 TV miniseries The Kennedys. The voluminous chin-grazing wig is further proof that Holmes is a dead ringer for the American style icon, as seen in previous photos taken from the set earlier this week.
Although the drastic shorter length is for a role, this isn’t the first time Holmes has flirted with a shorter ‘do. At the 2015 Met Gala, she tricked her fans (and us) when she wore a sleek bob wig with blunt bangs. Later last summer, Holmes made the actual chop and traded her signature long, pin-straight strands for a wavy textured lob. And while we may always think of Holmes as Joey Potter with flowing, chocolate brown hair, Holmes’s relationship with the bob started when she first cut off her long locks and kept the shorter length for a period in 2008. The style has gone down in hair makeover history as our most popular tried-on style in our Hollywood Makeover Tool, an easy way to try the cut for yourself—no wig or scissors required.
