Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge finally tried a new updo! The royal took tea at the British High Commission with Prince William during her jubilee tour of Asia yesterday, where she tied back her long chestnut locks with pretty pearl-topped pins. The look—which truly seems like something a princess would wear—reminded us of what we saw on Chanel’s spring 2012 runway, where hairstylist Sam McKnight took inspiration from the ocean for the models' tied-up tresses. To recreate the look, McKnight suggests adding mousse to damp strands before twisting them into a low knot, a tip he told us for our annual InStyle Hair issue. Then, slide in a few pearl-topped pins. If you're really crafty, grab a glue gun and make your ownattaching loose pearls to standard bobby pins. We love this fairytale look!

Plus, try on Her Royal Highness' hairstyles!
