Kate Middleton definitely knows how to use fashion to make an entrance. And for a diplomatic trip to India with husband Prince William, the Duchess of Cambridge was on top of her game. Using both color and embellishment to dazzle guests, Middleton chose a custom Jenny Packham gown to attend a glitzy gala at the Taj Mahal Palace hotel in Mumbai.

While there were plenty of gorgeous guests at the show like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Middleton's head to toe cobalt ensemble (even down to the earrings!) made for quite the entrance. (A dashing date doesn't hurt either!)

Earlier in the trip, Middleton also showed her knack for choosing daywear in a printed dress while she took a try at cricket. Neutral shoes with a straw wedge kept the outfit looking summery while a pair of dangling gold earrings added a touch of daytime glamour:

She also donned a different red number when she arrived in Mumbai with Prince William to place a wreath at the Taj Palace Hotel Memorial for the victims of the 2008 terror attacks:
