The Duchess of Cambridge is spreading her wings! Kate Middleton embarked on her first solo trip abroad as a royal on Tuesday, and she handled the engagement like a seasoned pro.

One day after speaking out on World Mental Health Day with Princes William and Harry in London, the duchess arrived in the Netherlands, where she is continuing her support of mental health awareness. Dressed elegantly in a periwinkle blue belted coat and matching pencil skirt by Catherine Walker & Co., Middleton was greeted by Dutch King Willem-Alexander upon her arrival in the country.

Next, the Kate headed to the Mauritshuis museum, where she received a personal tour of the permanent collection, including Johannes Vermeer's famed painting Girl with a Pearl Earring.

The day’s main attraction will be a U.K. and Netherlands discussion on addiction and mental health, led by the duchess herself. She brought together representatives from the charities the Anna Freud Centre and Action on Addiction, as well as the research-based Trimbos Institute for what’s sure to be an enlightening and productive discussion.

“She has initiated a brilliant idea of bringing institutions together that have similar interests,” Peter Fonagy, the chief executive of the Anna Freud Centre said, according to People. “Because of her charisma, because of her interest, she is able to bring together people who would not normally be talking to one another and that brings enormous value.”

To shop the trend, pick a classic-cut dress like this high-neck periwinkle number from Topshop ($90; topshop.com). Pair it with neutral accessories and a neat updo for a duchess-inspired look.
