When the sun’s shining and the weather’s hot, Kate Middleton proves to wear a sundress like no other. But on Friday in North Wales, the Duchess of Cambridge showcased her ability to elegantly nail fall outerwear. With Prince William by her side, Middleton arrived at Caernarfon Castle Square, where the royal pair was once again on hand to help the greater good and greet the leaders of philanthropic organizations like Mind UK and GISDA.

So what was the beauty wear for the occasion? Middleton took a casual approach to daytime dressing and rocked a gray, knee-length coat that cinched perfectly at the waist. She paired her statement piece with a black turtleneck, small gold earrings, and black suede over-the-knee boots, finishing off the look with a neat ponytail.

On her visit, Middleton stopped to chat with young locals, posing with well-wishers and even receiving a bouquet of flowers from an adorable 3-year-old boy, Theo. The royal couple then traveled to Snowdonia, where they continued their charitable efforts and also took a moment to adventurously take up abseiling.
