It's hard to imagine that anyone could be in a bad mood, let alone feuding, when they're wearing the skirt equivalent of a Starbucks red cup holiday latte.

In the midst of all those "row" rumors, Kate Middleton looked as merry as can be this Tuesday while hosting a party at Kensington Palace — and her outfit will have you rethinking what to wear to Christmas dinner.

The Duchess of Cambridge — who walked through the palace grounds with Prince William at her side and staffers in "ugly" Christmas sweaters behind her — kept things seasonally chic with a red tartan skirt by Emilia Wickstead.

She let the skirt take center stage by keeping things simple with a black Brora cardigan, black boots, and Mappin & Webb earrings.

People reports that the festivities were held at the palace's Orangery, which is just a few yards away from Will and Kate's house.

This holiday event is the first of many for the royals, and it will all culminate at the end of the month, when Will and Kate will join Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for their second Christmas together (honestly, what feud?). Really, what better way to keep Christmas merry?
