Kate Hudson is taking red carpet dressing to new, sheer lengths. On Tuesday night, the Almost Famous star made the premiere of her new film Deepwater Horizon a family affair, stepping out at the Toronto International Film Festival event with co-star and stepdad Kurt Russell in the most dramatic sheer black number.

The 37-year-old, who plays the wife of the Deepwater Horizon oil rig engineer in the new thriller based on real-life events, was dressed to the nines in a form-fitting black floor-length number that showcased all of her athletic physique.

The mom-of-two's gown featured a see-through black bustier-style bodice with boning, strategically placed inserts, and silver seashell embellishments that extended down to the top of the floral lace skirt, which was also sheer.

She accessorized the daring look with a sparkling Tiffany & Co. jewels, including a choker-style necklace and drop earrings (treating her fans to a close-up view Instagram, below), finishing off her all-black ensemble with nude lips, sunset-hued eyeshadow, and a low center-parted bun with face-framing pieces.

Kurt Russell was all smiles walking the red carpet with his stepdaughter and co-star. The 65-year-old actor kept things casual in a pair of jeans, a black button-up shirt, and blazer for the event.
