Kate Hudson and her athleisure company Fabletics are putting their stamp on Breast Cancer Awareness month.

The Deepwater Horizon star was all smiles Tuesday evening at the Del Amo Fashion Center’s Fabletics store in Torrance, Calif., as she celebrated the launch of Fabletics’ Fashion Targets Breast Cancer pink ensemble, which helps generate funds for breast cancer research.

“We’re growing at a really, very fast rate, which is a wonderful thing for our company, but it also starts to allow these opportunities to raise real funds for things that matter to us and matter to a lot of people,” Hudson, who sported a white Fabletics tank, a black embroidered vest, and wide-leg denim pants, told InStyle at the event.

The Council of Fashion Designers of America joined forces with the brand for Fashion Targets Breast Cancer, with Fabletics launching the 3-piece look: a pink floral sports bra, matching capri pants, and a solid pink tank top for the initiative. Twenty percent of proceeds from it benefit the FTBC.

“I’ve always been a huge sort of advocate for making sure we continue talking about breast cancer and awareness, and raising funds so that we can actually find a cure,” Hudson, who is the October ambassador for FTBC, continued. “Almost every woman has been, in some way, affected by it, whether it be directly or indirectly ... every October, it’s just something that I’ll always in some way be a part of.

As for how fast Hudson’s company has grown, the athleisure mogul told us it feels “so crazy.” She added, “It’s only been three years. To have 18 stores by the end of this year, and to be where we are sort of now is just kind of shocking and amazing.”

“I feel like we got into this [business] for all the right reasons ... I wanted to be a part of this because our brand is a message,” she continued, adding that that message is women’s empowerment. “That was more important to me than anything. We’re just starting to get in this groove...I can’t wait.”

As the Fabletics store opened, fans waiting outside poured in, sifting through the racks of the store with excitement. A DJ spun hits, waiters carried trays of Caprese salad and butternut squash-topped pancakes for the taking, and shoppers sipped Champagne while they showed each other their finds and palmed FTBC pink ensembles.
