Karlie Kloss Was Called Out for Her Kushner Ties by a Project Runway Contestant

Her reaction said it all.

Last night's episode of Project Runway got extremely awkward when a contestant called out host Karlie Kloss's relationship to the Kushner family via her marriage to Joshua Kushner.

While the judges were critiquing outfits designed for Kloss to wear for an event, Brandon Maxwell told contestant Tyler Neasloney of his design, "Tyler, I cannot see Karlie wearing it anywhere, honestly."

"Not even to dinner with the Kushners?" Neasloney replied.

And, well, we'll let you take a look at Kloss's reaction yourself.

Kloss, who married Kushner (brother of Jared who is the husband of Ivanka Trump and son-in-law to President Donald Trump) in 2018, has been open about how her political views contrast those of her husband's family.

She told British Vogue last July that although "it's been hard" being connected to the White House through her marriage, “I choose to focus on the values that I share with my husband and those are the same liberal values that I was raised with and that have guided me throughout my life."

During the 2016 election, Kloss shared a photo of herself voting, and hashtagged it #ImWithHer, a tagline referencing Hillary Clinton.

Still, that didn't stop the internet from having fun with Neasloney's perceived jab.

Neasloney was eventually eliminated later in the episode, and according to Town and Country, apologized to Kloss, saying, "It did not come out how I meant it. Karlie, I want you to know that I'm not a jerk. I'm professional, so what I said earlier had no hidden agenda, no meaning."

For the record, it seems like there were no hard feelings. Kloss tweeted on Thursday night, "Thank you Tyler for your contributions to the runway! Wishing you all the best as you continue your fashion journey."
