Karl Lagerfeld’s New Sketching Toolbox Proves He’s the Master of Opulence
Karl Lagerfeld takes a more-is-more approach to, well, just about everything—and the tools he uses to put forward his over-the-top ideas are no exception. WWD reports that the Chanel and Fendi designer has officially teamed up with Faber-Castell, a luxury pen and pencil manufacturer, to create his own whimsical collection.
Appropriately dubbed Karlbox, the sketching kit comes in a box that takes inspiration from a Chinese wedding chest. So how much is the entire box worth? Available at both Faber-Castell stories and Karl Lagerfeld boutiques beginning September 1, a set can be yours for a whopping 2,500 euros, approximately $2,825.
Sure, there’s nothing affordable about Lagerfeld’s latest project, but there’s no denying that the selection would make a masterful gift for the burgeoning designer in your life. After all, the household name has reportedly used the brand’s pieces for years, keeping them always at the ready near his desk in Paris.
