Justin Timberlake Wouldn't Have Written "Can't Stop the Feeling" Before Being a Father: "It Changes Everything"
If you’re a fan of Justin Timberlake’s chart-topping single “Can’t Stop the Feeling,” you may have 1-year-old Silas Timberlake to thank. Timberlake said the new music for the Trolls soundtrack was definitely influenced by becoming a father.
“I would have never written a song like ‘Can’t Stop the Feeling.’ I don’t know that it was directly inspired to be something that my son could listen to of mine, because there’s a lot of music he can’t listen to of mine, at least not yet,” he told Today, revealing that his world was tipped upside down by the arrival of his now-18-month-old son.
“You literally just wake up, look in the mirror, and go, ‘I have no idea what I’m doing.’ It changes everything,” he said.
Silas isn’t the only thing in his life that has changed: Timberlake said he’s been in awe of his wife Jessica Biel’s transition into motherhood. “It’s crazy. You have this new appreciation for both of them, her and him. It’s humiliating and it’s humbling at the same time,” he said. “You watch her realize she has a gear she didn’t have, and then you go, ‘Whoa.’”
