The preparation for awards season is kicking into high gear! Last night's 24th annual Gotham Independent Film Awards drew a star-studded crowd at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City, where some of Hollywood's finest gathered to celebrate their peers and the year's best independent films.
Standout looks included Julianne Moore in a wow-worthy black-and-white Givenchy frock with Fred Leighton jewels (above, left), Scarlett Johansson in a dazzling black minidress (above, center), and Tilda Swinton in a statement-making nude-tone ensemble (above, right). Other attendees included Uma Thurman, Meryl Streep, Jon Hamm, Steve Carell, Miles Teller, Jake Gyllenhaal, Heather Graham, Marisa Tomei, Ethan Hawke, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw, who all came out to participate in the first honors of the film awards season.
Moore's stunning outfit wasn't her only reason to celebrate—she was honored with the evening's Best Actress award for her work in Still Alice. Other big winners included Michael Keaton for Best Actor, Tessa Thompson for Breakthrough Actor, and Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) for Best Feature.
