Julianne Hough Gets a Perm—See Her Beachy New Hairdo

Julianne Hough has traded in her sleek locks for a wavy new 'do. We're used to seeing the actress with perfectly tousled red carpet ringlets, but now she's bringing back the perm with a whole different look.

Sharing an in-salon snap (above) of her undergoing the process at Nine One Zero in West Hollywood, Calif., the former Dancing with the Stars judge revealed that the style was achieved thanks to Olaplex—a hair treatment that works to strengthen the broken bonds in hair to make it stronger and healthier. Hence, Hough was able to perm her strands without over-processing and severely damaging it.

In a post hair makeover video Hough revealed her bouncy, beachy waves writing: "Today, I woke up like this! thanks to my @ninezeroone family for giving me the PERM I asked for 6 years ago! Bye bye straight hair, hello sexy beach waves! #kingofperms #olaplex." Watch it here:

We're loving the low-maintence style that seems perfect for summer. Hough might have managed to help the perm make a comeback—albeit a much softer, smoother version than the signature '80s style.
