Julianne Hough and Brooks Laich Are Separating After Nearly 3 Years of Marriage
"We share an abundance of love and respect for one another and will continue to lead with our hearts from that place."
It’s official: Julianne Hough and Brooks Laich are separating after nearly three years of marriage.
"We have lovingly and carefully taken the time we have needed to arrive at our decision to separate," the pair said in a statement issued to People. "We share an abundance of love and respect for one another and will continue to lead with our hearts from that place. We kindly request your compassion and respect for our privacy moving forward.”
The dancer and her former hockey player husband have been quarantining separately through the pandemic — in L.A. and Idaho, respectively. According to a source who spoke to People, the two have been "perfectly happy and fine being apart,” which made it clear to both parties that they’re better off as friends. “They are hoping to move forward as deeply loving friends forever who will always be supportive and encouraging of one another."
"It's been a sad situation, but they have both realized that their priorities are too different for their marriage to work out,” a separate source told the outlet.
The pair began dating in 2014 before getting engaged in the summer of 2015. They wed in the summer of 2017 in an outdoor ceremony in Idaho.
