Crimson Peak Star Jessica Chastain Explains Why She Believes in Ghosts
Considering she portrays the dark and broody Lady Lucille Sharpe in this fall’s spooky fantasy Crimson Peak, you’d expect Jessica Chastain to be fearless. And that’s exactly what she proved to be when the actress stopped by The Today Show yesterday morning to reveal that otherworldly tales and spirits don’t exactly bother her.
Chastain explained how horror films and mysterious classics were always her favorite to watch growing up. “I loved it. I remember when I was in high school I had gothic friends and, oh my God, we loved Interview with a Vampire with Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt and all of those costumes, so yeah, this was fun,” she said.
So does the redhead star believe in ghosts? “It’s more fun to believe in ghosts than to not believe in ghosts so yes, I believe in ghosts,” she charmingly said. “And sometimes the lights will turn on and off if I’m in London or something and I always say, ‘Hey! OK, great. You’re here. I recognize you. I’m super tired. Please let me sleep...It’s more fun to think that maybe someone’s trying to communicate with me.”
Does Chastain deserve the award for Hollywood’s bravest starlet? We think so. Watch the full interview below.
