With the weather finally feeling like summer in Los Angeles, Jessica Alba, Rachel Zoe and more headed to a private estate in Beverly Hills, Calif., on Sunday afternoon for a day of outdoor entertainment and charity at the 8th Annual Children Mending Hearts "Empathy Rocks" fundraiser.

The event not only raised money for the organization, which empowers disadvantaged youth through educational and arts programs, but also honored Zoe, who received the Humanitarian of the Year Award at the event.

Zoe, who attended the bash in a floral, off-white dress from her namesake spring collection, called the award "the sweetest thing ever," adding, "To even be honored today is amazing." She continued, "Lysa [Heslov, CMH Founder] ... what she's done is unreal. She's kind of heroic in my eyes."

Before she headed to the stage to receive her award, the stylist-turned-designer enjoyed the day's festivities with husband Rodger Berman and their 5-year-old son, Skyler, who got his face painted at the fėte. Meanwhile, InStyle's July cover girl Alba (and Zoe's BFF) arrived with her 4-year-old daughter Haven, who wore an off-white princess dress and insisted on getting identical gold sun-shaped flash tattoos with her mom. The Honest Company guru stunned at the event in a black Three Floor dress with a floral lace bottom, which she paired with a black quilted purse and woven tan-and-black stilettos.

Alba was beaming as she took the stage to present the award to Zoe, saying, "In light of so much hate in the world, it's so wonderful to be part of so much light and love." She continued, "Rachel Zoe, what a maj name. You know what else is maj about this woman and dear friend of mine? Her impeccable taste, her patented vocab, her motherly ways, her thoughtfulness, her determination, her smarts, her instincts, her spirit, her heart, her timeless eye, and her genius."

"I'm lucky enough to know Rachel as a friend, as well as an entrepreneur, and an icon," she continued. "I've seen her bring the same passion and commitment that she has to her work to her family as a wife and mother. I respect how hard she works, and I know how hard it can be to do all of that in eight-inch stacked heels. Even at the beach, she wears them in the sand. Eight inch. It's an honor to honor her, and when it comes to Rachel, there's only one word I can think of: obsessed. I love you."

After they told each other "I love you" and hugged, Zoe addressed the crowd, saying, "Philanthropy has always been a big part of my life ... children were my passion before I became a mother, long before." She continued, "I can't really explain how many kids need our help here and around the world. It's never enough. We do what we all can do, but I want to tell everyone here, please do more, if you can. If I didn't work a job and my name was not on the door, I would only do this."

Guests like mom-to-be Ali Fedotowsky, Garcelle Beauvais, and Kat Graham were not only treated to the program, but also a shopping bazaar that included free Michael Stars kids T-shirts and Honest Company mineral sunscreen, as well as a spa and beauty area where they could indulge in massages, facials, B-12 shots, and Conair hair styling. As for the grub, Malibu's Vintage Grocers provided a spread of sliders, shrimp cocktail, poke bowls and more, and those with a sweet tooth indulged in cotton candy, Sprinkles Cupcakes, and Coolhaus ice cream sandwiches.

It was a sweet afternoon, indeed.
